Jobs, Internships, and Volunteering
Restore Justice was founded in 2015 by a group of seasoned advocates—including former Human Rights Watch staff and public defenders, inmate and victim family members, and formerly incarcerated people—because we believe every human being deserves dignity, even those who have committed serious crimes. We work toward a day when the criminal justice system in Illinois treats every case as an opportunity to heal individuals and communities.
Are you ready to apply your talents to make a difference for incarcerated individuals and their families? Do you want to be challenged all the time at work, learn a ton of stuff, have a lot of fun, be inspired frequently, and make a significant impact? Join us!
- We are currently accepting internship applications for Summer 2023 (to begin in or around June). Send resume and letter to firstname.lastname@example.org with “Internship” in the subject line.
- If you are interested in taking action on our policy priorities, consider joining our Advocacy Team. Team members help advance policy change. Learn more here.
- We have a new volunteer program. We will match volunteers with people who will be leaving prison within five years so we can help them prepare to return to society. Volunteers will be asked to help with different tasks (based on your skills and interests). Tasks may include answering emails or letters, sending information, picking a person up from prison, and helping a person who is home write a resume. Learn more here.
- Due to limited staff capacity, we are unable to take phone calls about the positions offered or individual application status. Please direct your queries to email@example.com and we will do our best to respond in a timely manner.
