Advocacy Days

Restore Justice leads trips to Springfield each legislative session. Join us to educate legislators about criminal justice reform and advocate for the return of second chances in Illinois.

Advocacy in action

Attendees receive coaching and materials to help them seek out and effectively speak with legislators. They are paired with experienced advocates as they navigate the Capitol.

Meals are provided, and transportation to and from Springfield is available. All participants also receive a Restore Justice T-shirt.

Sample itinerary

7:00 – 7:30AM Breakfast

A light breakfast and boxed lunches will be available for attendees en route to Springfield.

7:30AM Depart

The group leaves for Springfield.

11:00 – 11:30AM ARRIVE IN SPRINGFIELD

Participants will meet in the rotunda of the Illinois State Capitol building (401 S 2nd St, Springfield, IL) upon arrival for a brief orientation.

11:00AM – 2:30PM MEET WITH LEGISLATORS

Working in small teams, participants will seek out and educate legislators on issues relating to criminal justice reform. Fact sheets and other materials will be provided.

3:00PM REGROUP AND DEBRIEF

Participants will reconvene to share their experiences.

3:15PM DEPART SPRINGFIELD

Advocacy day concludes as the group returns back to Chicagoland.
